Porcelain:
Correct installation:
For correct installation of porcelain tiles:
It is worth keeping in mind that single fired fully vitrified
porcelain tiles and all fired ceramic products are subject
to size and shade variation.
Before
tiles setting, please verify material and be sure that the
material served corresponds with the specified in the purchase
order.
In al
of Alreef cartons there is a detail of the item or reference,
shade and exact size, therefore, claims of material, that
have already been installed will not be accepted.
Treat
the tiles carefully to avoid any kind of damages.
Make
sure the base or support is perfectly flat and clean before
its installation
Due to
the low absorption of the porcelain tiles, a special mortars
are required. And the installation must be done with a slow
drying cement or paste (recommended by your supplier for
porcelain tiles), it must be distributed throughout the
whole surface of the support as well as of the tile.
For
tile-laying method, international standards generally advise
for open jointed (i.e. with grout joints). The size of the
joints depends on the size of the tiles.
For the choice of the most suitable materials for the joints
and methods of application, follow the manufactures
instructions strictly.
Warning:
(1) Laying Porcelain tiles on screeds or other
cementations layers before they have been allowed to cure
sufficiently will result in a serious risk of damage on the
tiles surface such as breakage or lifting of the tiles.
(2) Coloured grouts, particularly black, brown and
strong colours in general may be difficult to remove from
tiles, even if the tiles have excellent stain resistance (class5,
standard ISO 10545.14). Check their cleanability prior to
use, even carrying out preliminary checks on unlaid tiles.]
(3) Do not apply FL acid to tiles.
For technical reasons connected with printing, the colors
of the tiles that appear in this catalogue may not exactly
match the real colors.
